Most therapists receive very little to no sex therapy training through their graduate program and yet, they are expected to be able to understand, hold space, and support folks in areas they’re struggling with, including sexuality. Foundational knowledge of sexuality is critical to holding space and helping clients heal; this includes understanding their own biases and assumptions around sex and sexuality and how this impacts their ability to be present with the client with compassion, non-judgement, and acceptance.

In this training, students will become aware of their existing biases around different types of sexuality and how to integrate sex therapy principles into their existing practice. This training is not meant to make them a sex therapist; however, it will give students the confidence to work with different sex and sexuality issues that might come up in the therapy room with individuals and couples, including assessment and techniques for a variety of sexual issues. Students will leave the course equipped with a sense of how these foundational principles might fit into their practice and where to begin in assessing, understanding, and working with the tools and techniques provided.

This program meets the requirements of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) and is approved for 40 CE credits. About This Training

  • Live Training Compotent

    30 Hours of Live Training with AASECT Certified Sex Therapists Diana Sadat and Ciara Moran in a small cohort to deepen your knowledge, apply, and integrate learnings with real cases and interventions!

  • When & Where

    This training is a combination of pre-recorded modules and live Integration Days – please sign up for an Integration Days cohort based on your availability. You will be required to have completed all assignments and modules to be able to participate in the Integration Days. We run 2 cohorts of Integration Days each year – the days run Wednesdays to Fridays, 9am-4pm PST on Zoom. Each day consists of 6 hours of training daily and a 1 hour lunch break. You can register for your Integration Days cohort at any time as long as there is space. Please note: you must attend the entire 3 days of one cohort. Spring 2026 Cohort: Wednesday April 22nd 2026 to Friday April 24th 2026 9am-4pm PST Fall 2026 Cohort: Wednesday October 21st 2026 to Friday October 23rd 2026 9am-4pm PST The modules must be completed by the Monday of the week of the training – should it not be completed, you will be contacted and moved to a future cohort.

    no pre-requisites; active participation is required. This course requires participants to active engage in activities, practices, and discussions – if you are hoping for a training that is purely didactic or you are a passive participant that acts as a “fly on the wall”, this may not be the training for you!
